As a Business Partner you will have work alongside the Senior business leaders to drive the strategic agenda and ultimately support the business to achieve its vision. you will be supported by two HR Advisors who will report directly into this role.
Role and Responsibilities
Build and maintain strong business relationships with relevant business leaders ensuring they are supported and coached to help improve business efficiencies
Take ownership of all escalated Parasol employee issues, including employment tribunal claims. ensure a consistent delivery of effective and professional advice in line with policies, legislation and best practice.
Deliver relevant strategic and proactive advice, which is aligned to the Groups Vision, Purpose and Values
Take ownership of questioning and challenging others to get to the root of people and business issues and develop solutions to support the business area to deliver its strategy
Actively contribute to the creation of the People Strategy inline with the strategic and operational plans and assist in ensuring its translation into respective business areas
Build management capability in all people related matters using a variety of techniques such as coaching, training etc.
Provide guidance on people practices such as restructures and succession planning
Work in conjunction with the Learning and Development and Recruitment functions to ensure we are attracting, recruiting and retaining high quality people
Develop, implement and embed key HR initiatives
Take the lead on specific projects
Proactively identify reoccurring issues and/or trends and work with business areas to address them e.g. high sickness levels, high turnover
Ensure policies and procedures are continuously reviewed and updated to ensure they are fit for purpose and deliver a quality service
To carry out such other duties and responsibilities which are consistent with the role
Qualifications and Education Requirements
Fully CIPD qualified (chartered MCIPD)
Skills and Experience
Proven experience of working as a HR Business Partner in a commercially focused business environment
A solid understanding of UK employment legislation and forthcoming changes in employment law
Practical and working knowledge in the management of all ER case areas such as disciplinary, grievance, performance, absence management and redundancy
Have management experience
Track record of delivery in a fast pace environment
a forward thinking and solution focused attitude
Ability to deliver on multiple priorities
Self-starter who is able to initiate action and take responsibility for problem solving
Proven ability to assert influence and expertise when appropriate and apply creative solutions to new situations
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; able to establish credibility and develop and build good working relationships with people at all levels
Able to work under own initiative, with a degree of autonomy, to tight deadlines
An excellent team player with an attitude to roll sleeves up and become involved in different HR activities as required.
